biskut Avril

Mula-mula, sedari dunia pasca-moden tuntut usaha ekstra.

Satu, untuk hidup dalam realiti. Dua, untuk hidup dalam digital.

macam rutin harian Ali.
semuanya tersusun ikut prioriti.

bangun pagi, syukur, bersih diri, kemudian tunai fardu pinta dikenal Tuhan. realiti selesai.
hidupkan pc/fon, ucap hello. maka digital selesai.

malah, mahu menikmati sunrise cukuplah di instagram.

**

Saif habiskan lagi tiga keping.

Ali bersuara;
"biskut gula ni, ada lima keping kan? kenapa kau bagi aku cuma dua?"

Saif, acuh tak acuh, "makan jelah, dah dapat dua taknak bersyukur lagi?"

"bukan biskut kau pon, Jusoh pesan suruh kongsi sama-sama. kau tak bahagi adil-adil. kau zalim."

"kau tak pandai bersyukur, komunis."

"jangan nafi zalim guna topeng syukur, oportunis."

Tukar? Tak tukar!
Tukar! Tak tukar?

Tukar tak? Tukar!

Bincangkan. (guna contoh Ali dan Saif.)

"hormat ilmu!" - "student power!"

salam alay'k and greetings!

semalam

tulisan buku jadi realiti. macam novel diadaptasi jadi movie.

di perkarangan masjid, mereka - pelajar, alumni, staf, lecturer, aktivis, orang yang jelas tentang isu, orang-orang bingung isu yang kurang peduli, media, spectators, aku - berhimpun demi menuntut penjelasan dan pembebasan DAAB.

"hormat ilmu!"

"bebas AB!"

"hancur kezaliman!"

"student power!"

ramai-ramai melaungkan slogan-slogan dalam uniti, serentak bersama. permulaan demonstrasi bermula cukup baik. pihak sekuriti benarkan kepala himpunan membuat ucapan. orang ramai mengambil tempat.

tapi,

berdemo secara intelekkah kalau menolak merempuh barisan sekuriti? pintu ofis rektor bukannya mampu tanggung semua ratusan kita. oh ya, prof nik (deputy rector) pon turut hanyut dengan arus insensible puak-puak belakang yang menolak-nolak.

setakat pemerhatian aku orang-orang belakang cukup high masa ni. mungkin kalau ajak bertumbuk memang tak berpeluang menang dengan mereka. kemonlah. mesej aku tuju khas kepada orang2 yang buat demo nampak teruk-buruk dalam video post-demo. jangan bawa nama demo intelek kalau begini.

adab diketepi, amarah takluk diri.

anyway, alhamdulillah,
memorandum burjaya diserah.

kemunculan politikus.

tahukah anda aku dan beberapa orang kawan yang lain mengidamkan demonstrasi semalam berkonsep from students, by students, for students; fight for lecturers.

kalaulah demo semalam tanpa politikus.

phail 1. organiser of course la bukan students body. tak kiralah siapa tapi aku kenal muka beberapa aktivis gerakan mahasiswa dari luar kampus. tahniah kepada kalian atas semangat aktivism kalian. aku dah pergi beberapa program anjuran diorang ni dan setakat ni aku suka, tapi semalam ada phail sikit.

phail 2. for the sake of nak jadi professional observer, aku telah lama belajar untuk runtuh tembok stigma, diskriminasi dari melabel people. satu habit kurang sihat yang buat aku tersangkut dalam judgment yang aku buat sendiri dari kotak kepala aku.

aku belajar buat kawan pelbagai kaum-bangsa-agama, mix up with PLWHA, etc. tapi aku ada sikit judgmental reservoir when it comes to poiliticians and LBGT. entahlah kenapa.

what's done is done. politicians did make appearance and the demo continues. sudahlah nanti di kemudian hari, orang yang selalunya menerima berita akan melihat demonstrasi semalam sebagai demonstrasi yang ada kepentingan politik oleh sebab kemunculan politikus.

bukan semua orang profeesional observer, dan bukan semua orang cuba menjadi professional observer.

lihatlah sendiri.

aku perlu ubah ini

seorang pemuda sabar menanti bas di perhentian. di sebelahnya ada seorang pakcik sedang duduk mengekah sambil hisap rokok daun. mukanya tenang menghembus asap tembakau. pemuda itu disapanya

"nak kemana nak? tidak kau punya kereta?"

Luckman geleng kepala.

"kau nampak kereta itu?," pakcik separuh abad itu menuding jari ke arah KE90 di ceruk parkir.

"itu punya aku, masih gagah sejak 1979, tidak pernah lagi eksiden." katanya megah. Luckman diam dalam rasa inferior.

pakcik eksentrik teruskan ceritanya.

"kenapa?" soal Luckman.

Luckman terpana. He felt the pang of truth. sejenak kemudian, basnya tiba. Dia buka langkah tinggalkan pakcik tua merungut keseorangan. dalam perjalanan, dia buka begnya ambil satu buku dan baca

“A government of laws, and not of men”

aku perlu ubah ini, monolog Luckman, pemuda penuh LUCK, penuh sukses.

*isu lama, tetiba resurface.

my 11.01.2011

salam.

One thing that never fails to make me smile is seeing young young people wow a room with their word of wisdom, bright idea, and the best part is to debate one another.

As if the last Tuesday, dated nicely on 11.01.11, held an event with name of National Students Assembly @KL/Sel Chinese Assembly Hall. The format was simple.  The participants were divided into sections and they’re set.

Open mic session as the start of all is told to be at fast pace, they’re queued to speak their own mind, one by one, mic after mic, tak cukup masa and intense too –macam rebut rebut nak cakap la - because of time limitation and surely because of everyone wanted to speak, which is good!

It was “Popular assembly” where you Stand up and speak up! Every student gets a quick turn to share or vent about their student problems in this fast-paced, democratic, sharing session. The session continued after break with workshop session.

Pause! Wait up, fyi I was late. I came after class in the evening - well I don’t skip classes – but I had friend who committed himself from the very start so I knew a little of all, at least for writing this, still I’m not the person to review the whole event.

I missed out the workshop session, where described in their web like: “Where do student problems come from? Find out in this group workshop by identifying root causes and mapping out the BIGGER picture!” Then, they’re as ready to run the last show: The Students’ Parliament.

First usul to be brought up was Student’s Cooperation. Koperasi Mahasiswa lah in Bahasa. I personally think that having cooperation was great. Coop can run for financial steady for supporting its activities-to-be-carried-out. Particularly for students, things like buying textbooks, running a cause, and applying for sponsor and so on and what I think most is coop let an organization deserve recognition.

I’m not sure how to say this, but recognition of your very own body/organization can ease things surely better from before. I mean a legal coop open up job opportunity, setting up financial, services, especially for students’ issues.

But things are not easy as ABC. As debated in the session, some came up with issue on how will this Student’s Coop being managed? By whom? What about its enforcement, should or shouldn’t it be compulsory to all students? How about AUKU 15A which let no student funding a body?

Next is the issue of student’s representative in parliament which is supported only by approximately one-third of the hall. As a senator. Well, the system does not favorable, period!

Next is about the unity. Eh, fyi there were lots of them, but in very limited time some are discussed while some were combined. It was already Maghrib, and the session continues. Last of it was about student unity. Well, I just wondering, don’t we have SMM? What? Dominated?  Pawned.

Anyway, it’s great to see an event filled with activism breeze so that people knew our voice sounding steady. A sound that is not loud, but audible, for those who concern.

Dah 2 kali dengar rapat umum di UIAM, what’s next step?

*aku dengar pagi tu ada non-student with fake id trying to get into the hall. heh, cheap. students' activities has never be at peace

arsonist e[c]lipse

It was in my schooltime, when I used "Arsonist Eclipse" as my nick, online ( while I dont know what they mean).

But now, throughout the week, this week, they're happened. Both of them, the arsonist somehow heard all over the country, and yet today,

there is an eclipse, which is said to be the longest solar eclipse in duration, as the first of it's four of the year. But is it visible from Gombak?.

Seems it not.
*be fit for eclipse sunaa prayer.

so, how about the arsonist, they're super-not-cool. What in the world did they think, to be putting fire in other's church? Well, it's fireball a.f.a.i.k. A real Blown up.

At this moment, everyone started to pin the blame to other "someone" or maybe a group, racial or religions. Some may say its a respond of that term-of-God issues, or maybe political myth came up or people wanna see how would the front act etc.

Personally, I hope they who-is-responsible and whoever supposed to handle this, please results a wise decision for the sake of the divinity of the term and the people's level of understanding themselves. A lot of articles wrtten by now.

Some people already replace "OMG" to "Ya Allah", but then if the term itself is argued to be meant as God, as other's God,
test test "there is no Allah except Allah". erk, sounds hinky kan. At the end of the day, the Bahasa also lose its divinity. Just like the Arabic practice today.

It's no more in the state in which The Book is sent down where it is the craze of speaking by delivering nice quotes or poem in high level of word-decoration.
*Jawi is done for. now...

But then, the other side give a yes, for some good reason. Plus the verse of azZukhruf. Supported by the man of the field.

We have the mufti said no, the court yes and it varies from one another so that the people's knowledge developed the tidbit for better understanding.

Well well well, since silence is golden in certain situation. So, that is that, a little review of schooltime online nickname after all. hee

**this week also ~ 40k citizen of India missing in our land, they came in legally, enjoyed the visa on arrival, but now, they're undercover. erk, the mamak, could they be them?

Stop debate on BTN, I will decide, says Najib

PEKAN, Dec 12 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak wants all quarters, including ministers not to prolong the polemics on the National Civics Bureau (BTN).
He said he himself would evaluate BTN’s training modules and arrive at a decision on them later.
“All quarters have given their views or opinions (on the BTN). All kinds of opinions have been voiced, I think it is enough,” he told reporters after opening the Pekan Resource Centre here today.
He said this when asked to comment on the differing views on the subject from ministers, deputy ministers and also from former prime Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed.
“Give me a chance to evaluate the BTN modules together with the bureau’s officers and the government will take the necessary decisions to ensure its courses are in line with government policies,” said Najib.
Asked about his personal views on the BTN courses, Najib did not dismiss the possibility that the modules might have to be reviewed so that they were more suited to today’s demands.
“I want to know what are the contents of the (training) modules and secondly, I want to see if the courses are in tune with the times. Maybe, some of the contents were suited to a specific time period and when times change, the demands change likewise.
“As such, whether the BTN courses are keeping abreast of the changes taking place has to be looked into. Even school curricula cannot be static, they must change according to the times. Our training courses must at all times be dynamic and relevant,” he said.
Najib stressed that should any changes be made to the modules, it did not mean that he was rejecting what had done by the BTN before this.
“We appreciate what has been done by the BTN but when the environment around us changes, we have to ensure the contents (of the modules) are suited to the new and changed era,” said Najib.
As to when he would make a decision on the type of modules to be used, Najib said he would be meeting BTN officials after returning from his overseas trip.
On the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) review for ministers tomorrow, Najib said it was to fine tune its contents especially in relation to the six National Key Result Areas (NKRAs) that he had announced.
“This shows the approach taken by the government in using NKRAs and KPIs are not mere political rhetoric or empty talk, we are truly serious and committed.
“Despite it being a Sunday tomorrow, we will still be working. It goes to show that the government’s committment is very high in using these approaches to produce results,” he said.
Asked what would happen if there were ministers who were not up to the mark, Najib said: “There is still time for performance improvement and even if I do not reprimand, the people will.” — Bernama

*I unintentionally skipped the last time BTN session.
