A mind-numbing torture device made of cheap, brightly colored plastic. It resembles a horn but its pitch cannot be changed. It is being used during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. I thought I heard an angry swarm of bumblebees, but it was the sound of vuvuzelas playing at the World Cup.

An annoying trumpet-like instrument played by fans, mainly in African countries, in football matches. They may be banned from Fifa for the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa.

          Fan #1: Did you hear the fans go crazy when South Africa scored the goal yesterday?  
          Fan #2: No! I had to put my television on mute because of those damn vuvuzelas!

Rachel Corrie's story.

On March 16th, 2003, an Israeli soldier driving a bulldozer two-stories high crushed to death 23-year-old Rachel Corrie, an American nonviolent human rights protestor. According to numerous witnesses and photographic documentation, she was killed intentionally.Rachel and a handful of others practicing Gandhian nonviolence in the Gaza Strip had been pleading with Israeli soldiers for two hours not to destroy a Palestinian family home.

Suddenly, the Israeli bulldozer operator began driving his giant bulldozer toward the home, Rachel sitting in the bulldozer’s path. Witnesses report that she then stood up on the mound of
debris and dirt pushed by the bulldozer blade and looked straight at the operator through the window. He continued, and she was pulled underneath the tractor, its blade crushing her.

He then backed up, running over her again, burying her deeper into the dirt. Three friends ran to Rachel and dug her out. According to an eyewitness report by Joe Smith of Kansas
City: "Her body was in a mangled condition, she said 'my back is broken!' but nothing else.

Her eyes were open and she was clearly in a great deal of pain." A Palestinian ambulance made it through Israeli forces, and took her to the hospital, where she died. Reports are unclear whether it was her fractured skull or the suffocation caused by crushed lungs and being buried in the dirt that caused her death.

George Bush has yet to condemn this atrocity by an "ally" who receives more US funding than any other nation on earth, over $10 million per day. Congress has yet to pass a resolution condemning this use of American tax money to kill an American citizen.

The U.S. State Department has yet to impose any diplomatic sanctions whatsoever against a government whose "apology" for one of its soldiers crushing a young, peaceful American student has consisted of calling it "regrettable," and blaming Rachel for the Israeli soldier's decision to kill her.

The American media have yet to accord this horror the attention it would normally merit, if it had been done by any other country on earth, including the U.S. government. We heard about Chandra Levy for many months. We read about the students in Tiananman Square for years. We heard news reports about Rachel Corrie for approximately two days.

Apart from her hometown Washington state newspapers, there were virtually no follow up stories -- no stories about the memorial service held the next day in Gaza that was broken up by an Israeli tank, while the bulldozer that killed her drove slowly, exultantly past.

No stories about Israeli forces blocking the ambulance carrying her remains from exiting Gaza. No stories about Rachel's grieving parents and siblings, about their inability to travel to Palestine. No stories.

thank God, it's Friday.

I just had a gruelling time for the past two weeks. In brief, i'm a storekeeper, stock checker, painter, cleaner, cashier, photostate-er, binding-er, laminating-er, driver, salesman, carpenter, transporter, plumber and more to come, hopefully not. I wanna quit, truhfully. Because the jobscope being assigned to me is storekeeper, and only storekeeper it was. 

I can see it now, a person do developes, he evolves, from a basic thinking to complex one. Including being creative on how to boss others. with his affable, slightly bumbling persona ,hides an ability to tell what to, when it doesn't have to. please, YOU'RE-FIRED-me. haha.

SHISHA SMOKE CAN BE DEADLY.

SMOKING Shisha (flavoured tobacco) may cause cancer because of the coal or wood used to burn the tobacco and because its users inhale more tobacco smoke than a cigarette user, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek said.

In a written reply to Loh Seng Kok (BN – Kelana Jaya) Dr Chua said Shisha emitted its own toxins, including a high level of carbon monoxide, metal and chemical, which could cause cancer.

Smoking Shisha, he said, was a health hazard similar to smoking cigarettes and other tobacco products.

“The sharing of pipes can also lead to the risk of contracting infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and hepatitis,” he said.

Dr Chua said there was currently no study on the use of hookah in Malaysia although it was gaining popularity especially among urban youths.

The hookah is an equipment that originated from India but was widely used in Arabic countries. It has a big base container normally made of glass with several pipe funnels. The funnels are used to inhale the tobacco smoke which first goes through the water at the base.

The tobacco is sometimes burnt with other materials such as fruits or herbs to add flavour.

“The World Health Organisation has stressed that hookah is not safe. Smoking it brings the same health risk as smoking cigarettes.

“Contrary to previous belief, the tobacco smoke that comes out of the hookah container actually contains toxins known to cause lung disease, heart ailments and other dangerous diseases,” he added.

He said studies had shown that a hookah user inhales tobacco smoke for a longer period compared to someone smoking one stick of cigarette.

there was a day, nearly a month from now, I was this close (dengan isyarat tangan masa cakap this) to smoke it for the first time. but then, all the meal have finished before that inriguing-hookah thing came. so, cancel la, Azfar dah nak balik, Haziq dah fedup. wahaha. lem punye Benafee.

20's on it's way, yet i never smoke shisha, never solve a sudoku, either solve a rubix cube, never did an air flair nicely. never a positive score of snooker, never pass 150pts of bowl. ahhhh, i need a mark for my 20's. chill. ini cerita lama. tapi sejak member2 aku rajin ajak lepak. so saja la post.
